What’s Up?
My name is James Salus. I am the main photographer, owner and operator of Salus Media Photo & Video. I’m super excited you’re here!

I have been running and managing Salus Media since 2014, driven by the deep connections and love I witness from every couple I work with. At 34 years old, you can usually find me at the beach during the summer months or enjoying a good coffee shop in the winter. Photography is my passion, so I‘m rarely seen without a camera in hand.
I’m an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Penguins. When it comes to movies, I’m all in for Star Wars or a raunchy comedy from the early 2000s. I’m always up for trying new things—except seafood.
In 2022, I married my best friend in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by our closest friends and family in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In March 2023, we welcomed our first daughter into the world. We currently live in Howland, Ohio, where we indulge our love for food, travel, and aren’t shy about embracing our nerdy passions, especially when it comes to board games.

In 2013, I was working on the creative team at a church when I was asked by to take pictures of services that Sunday. I had never used a camera but always up for a challenge, I accepted. After doing it for a couple months, a friend of mine approached me just a couple weeks before his wedding and said his photographer had backed out last minute and he needed a photographer. I stepped up and in May of 2014 shot my first wedding. I posted those photos and as they gained traction, I soon was booked for 3 more weddings that same year and 9 the next year. ‘Salus Media’ came along in 2016 when the need for video arose. Once I began shooting video, I was able to build a team to be with me at weddings and now I have about 8 amazingly creative people that are on my team. As of now, I average about 45 weddings a year.

As I mentioned, I have a dedicated team that supports me with wedding photography and videography. They have my complete trust to capture weddings, even on my behalf.
